Lewis and Clark National Park

The first park we went to was Fort Stevens. It was a big fort used in the World War II.

The second park we went to and the first national park, was Fort Clatsop National park. On May 14, 1804 (210 years ago) Meriwether Lewis, William Clark and 31 other men left from St.Louis to explore the Louisiana Territory. President Thomas Jefferson had a dream to expand the U.S. from "Sea to shining Sea." When he purchased the Louisiana Territory it doubled the land area making Jefferson's dream one step closer to reality. President Jefferson made Meriwether Lewis in charge of stalking up on food, finding men, and preparing for a journey to map and explore the territory. Meriwether Lewis called one of his friends from the military William Clark. Fort Clatsop was were Lewis and Clark stayed the winter when they had finally reached the Pacific Ocean.

Hockey Camp in Salem

I spent the week in a hockey camp in Salem, Oregon with my two friends Dana and, Kayli. We woke up around 6:30 Monday - Friday. It was an hour drive to the Sherwood Ice Arena. The schedule was a 1 hour dry land session, a lecture, lunch and, a two hour and fifteen minuet ice session. It all ended at 1:00. During the ice session we would split into groups and go to different stations. One of my favorite stations was the bungee station. The bungee station is where you get strapped to a bungee and try to skate as far as you can to reach the other side of the boards. When you can't go any farther you fall to your knees and zoom across the ice on your knees. It is super fun and a lot of work.

Almost There

It is Tuesday, August 13th, 2014 at 11:40. In 20 minutes it will be Wednesday and I will leave for Canada with my family and friend Dana. Today we bought road food and other things for the way down. I am sleeping on the floor in a sleeping bag tonight. My parents hope to leave around 8:00 A.M. My dog Grace is glued to the car because she doesn't want to be left behind. I feel bad for her but, are renters will give her a lot of attention. We hope to get to Whitehorse by tomorrow. I will not be able to text or call anyone on are way through Canada. I will not be posting videos until I get settled and who knows when that is. Yes I am sad that there will be a huge gap in my YouTube channel but it will be hard to make videos with the time I will have.
