Im On A Mission

I'm On A Mission

This last week I was on a mission to explore the Missions. Pretty cheesy I know. The missions were pretty cool though. For those of you who don't know what the Missions are I'll tell you. They are old churches from the time Spain ruled Texas. They brought in Friars to come and preach the native Indians. They not only taught them the word but taught them to read and write and do stuff to make them "civilized''.

My favorite thing at the park.

The beautiful top

The palm trees are where the wall used to be.

New Orleans

New Orleans

New Orleans is an... interesting place. From strippers to human statues. It wasn't all that bad I guess. The streets are packed. My mom and I bought Voodoo dolls for my friends. They are very serious about Mardi Gras. It's very decorative.

Everglades

Everglades

I was staying in the Everglades for a week. There were lots of really cool things there. I saw manatees and crocs.

We went on a slough slog too! I got to be led into a slough by an 85 year old man. He was a very speedy man. I learned that manatees love fresh water.

We also went on a canoeing trip. I got to sit in the middle and enjoy life. The everglades are packed with alligators and crocs. There is one bike trail that you should never go on. I had a panic attack on that one.  Not the happiest days.
